30 Minutes, Every Day, All Year Through!

Here's HOW to do it...

Remember that you don't have to have a single 30 minute time block.

Say you do your Helicopter Spins for 5 minutes in the morning.

Then later in the morning say you do have a 20 minute block of time you can work out...do Crawling, Creeping, Rolling and Balance for 20 minutes.

Later...as you transition to recess you may stop to do 2 minutes of Basic Vision.

After recess, have the whole class do 3 minutes of Reflex Activities to get bodies ready to learn again.

The remaining 5 minutes of Eye Teaming, Focusing and Eye Movements can be done as transition activities and/or warm ups before reading and/or math, group time, etc...and there you have it...30 minutes!

Remember, 30 Minutes, Every Day, All Year Through gets you to 80 hours!

School is a building with four walls and tomorrow inside.

To teach is to learn twice.

Quotes from participants at Summer 2006 S.M.A.R.T. Workshops

"I am in awe of the information I learned today.   I knew that this workshop was going to be wonderful, but I did not expect to become inspired."

"As educators, we have been asked to implement many programs.   The S.M.A.R.T. program is the first that I have seen that could be beneficial to all students and does not target a specific group."

They GOT S.M.A.R.T. and ACCELERATED STUDENT ACHIEVEMENT

When 811 kindergarteners across six states were measured on nationally normed tests, S.M.A.R.T. students scored higher in Beginning Reading and Story Comprehension. Ninety percent of S.M.A.R.T. students scored in the top half, where only 50% would be expected.
