Congratulations new S.M.A.R.T. educators for the 2009-10 school year! Your school is one of fifty-four brand new sites, and more of you were trained in S.M.A.R.T. this summer than any other year. Despite our limited number of MLRC Mentors, we accept the challenge of visiting all of your dedicated sites, just as you have accepted the challenge of implementing S.M.A.R.T. into your school!
We are offering a first on-site visit free of charge to schools in Minnesota because we feel so strongly that the follow-up mentoring is as important as the training itself! We are also available to help support mentoring in two important ways - first to work with new S.M.A.R.T. administrators to determine funding sources that may already exist within your school or district budgets, and secondly to include your school in requests to local and regional foundations to bring regular mentoring to your school!
Remember, the MLRC mentoring program exists to help you fit S.M.A.R.T. activities into your daily routine. Mentors possess a wealth of experience and knowledge as former S.M.A.R.T. educators in public schools across the country and are available to help launch and grow your S.M.A.R.T. program by scheduling activities, setting up your S.M.A.R.T. space, organizing classrooms, managing time, and sharing suggestions to strengthen programs and achieve student success. Contact us at (612) 706-5549 to discuss funding options for your school!
